Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday gave a call for ousting the BJP-JJP government of Haryana from power and said that this government has taken Haryana from the top of development indicators to the bottom in the last 9 and a half years. Addressing a massive Jan Aakrosh Rally organized in Old Grain Market at Safidon on Monday, Hooda said today there are no doctors in the hospitals of Haryana, no teachers in the schools and no employees in the government offices. “When you go out, the roads are broken. This government has not done any work which can be praised,” he said, expressing his elation before a massive crowd gathered in the rally.
Expressing his pain over the decline of the state, he said that Haryana, which was number 1 in per capita income, per capita investment and job creation before 2014, is today number 1 in unemployment and crime. “Today 2 lakh government posts are lying vacant in Haryana. When the list of recruitment for top posts comes out, youth of other states are recruited, while the children of Haryana are left out,” he said questioned where will these youth go.
Hooda said that the previous Congress government ended the contracting system, but the BJP-JJP government itself became a contractor. “Permanent jobs were converted into temporary jobs through Skill Corporation. In these jobs, they neither get a permanent job, nor pension. Under Agniveer scheme, the youth will return home within 4 years,” he stated.
“The state got trapped in the hassle of portals. Somewhere my family identity card and somewhere my details of the farmer’s crop. Earlier the farmer used to sell his crop directly from the field to the market, now the farmers are dependent on the portal. If the farmer suffers a loss due to rain or hailstorm, he does not even get MSP in the mandis,” he added.
He said BJP had promised to double the farmers’ income by 2022. “Income did not double, but input costs doubled or tripled. The prices of fertilizers and pesticides increased three times,” he said. The program was organized by MLA Subhash Gangoli and the stage was conducted by former minister Ashok Arora.
The former Chief Minister said the wind of change is blowing in favour of Congress in entire Haryana and Congress government is going to be formed in the state. “We do what we say. When our government comes, we will give LPG cylinders to housewives for Rs 500. Every family will be given 300 units of electricity free of cost. When the Congress government is formed in Haryana, every elderly person will be given pension of Rs. 6000 per month,” he promised.
On this occasion, Haryana Pradesh Congress President Chaudhary Udaibhan said today the huge crowd gathered in the Jan Aakrosh Rally at Safidon is an indicator of the fact that the BJP-JJP government is leaving Haryana, and the Congress government is coming. Exposing the false guarantees of BJP, he said that their slogans have misled the people of the state.
Udaibhan said BJP-JJP are continuously attacking the welfare schemes of the poor. “The present government of the state has used family identity card as a weapon and cut off the pension of 5 lakh elderly people and widows. Yellow ration cards of 9.60 lakh families were cut off. The government could not spend Rs 405 crore received by the Central Government under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government surrendered the grant of 1,30,879 houses,” he stated.
“This government merged 4800 government schools, 498 schools were closed, 538 schools do not have toilets for girls, 1047 schools do not have toilets for boys. 8640 additional rooms are required in schools. Children of the poor and the deprived study in these schools. This government has kept thousands of teacher posts vacant, as part of a conspiracy. This government broke the dreams of poor children of becoming doctors by increasing the medical fees from Rs 40,000 per year during the time of Hooda government, to Rs 10 lakh now,” he added.
While addressing the Rally , MP Deepender Hooda raised the issue of highest unemployment in the country in Haryana and said there are unemployed youth in every family of the state. “Today there is neither employment in the private sector, nor in the government sector. Two lakh government posts were abolished. No industrial area has been set up, permanent jobs are being turned into temporary jobs through schemes like Kaushal Nigam or Agniveer,” he stated.
He directly asked that the Khattar government, which talks about expenditure slips, should tell which slips come from other states, as jobs in Haryana go to people from other states. He also pointed out that the BJP-JJP government also appointed the HPSC chairman from Jharkhand.
He said that the BJP-JJP government has derailed not only Haryana but also Jind and the Safidon area, from the track of development. “Haryana came at 17th position in growth rate. Schools are being closed in the state. Not even a single teacher was recruited in Haryana for 10 years. Whereas during the time of Congress government, 2700 new schools were opened and more than 1 lakh recruitments were done in the education department alone,” he stated.
