The 14th Vidhan Sabha budget session kicked off on Wednesday as the governor addressed the assembly. Prior to the starting of the session, a meeting of the Business committee was held in order to decide the further working of the assembly session. What was decided in the meeting is that question hour will take place over attracting a discussion on the speech of the governor delivered here in session on Wednesday. In this series, question hour will be held to be followed by the closure of working for the next two days. No proceeding will take place here from 9 March to 12 March to be followed by the holidays on 12-13 March. After this, a question hour will be conducted to be followed by the discussion on budget discussions on March 14, 2022. In this series, the session will witness question hours on the next 3 days till March 17 to be followed by no meeting on March 18 and holidays on March 19-20, 2022 respectively. In continuation to aforesaid proceedings, questions hours and questions asked by the opposition will be answered by the for the next two days here on March 21 and March 22, 2022 respectively.
It is pertinent to mention that obituary resolutions were passed during the working of the assembly on first day of assembly and the the JJP legislator Ramkumar Gautam demanded to add the name of deceased student Naveen Sekhirappa in the list who lost his life in Ukraine in the ongoing war with Russia in a blast. His demand was given consent. Apart from this, two of legislators namely Nirmal Rani and Neeraj Sharma hailing from the BJP and the Congress party respectively were declared the best MLA’s and in wake of this, they were given a case price of Rs 1 lakh each.
While delivering his address on the first day of Budget Session of the 14th Haryana Vidhan Sabha which commenced here today, the Governor said that during this period the entire Country and the State is celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of Independence, therefore it becomes our moral duty to remember all those great freedom fighters whose supreme sacrifices gave us an opportunity to celebrate this festival of Independence. Further, he said that in the NITI Aayog SDG India Index 2020-21, Haryana is among the leading states of the Country,” added, Bandaru Dattatraya.
