Govt PG College, Kalka hosts Alumni Meet Reunion 2024

PANCHKULA: In Kalka, the Government Postgraduate College hosted the Alumni Meet Reunion 2024 under the leadership of Principal Promila Malik. This gathering marked the largest reunion yet, bringing together old and new students of the 54-year-old Kalka Government College.

Justice Raj Rahul Garg, an alumnus of Kalka College, was the chief guest at the event, inaugurating the program by lighting the lamp. The Alumni Association President, Advocate Vijay Bansal, presided over the event. Alongside Vijay Bansal were former students Sanjay Bansal, Jitendra, Arun, and many others.

Former students from here are serving in various positions, with some making a name for themselves in the film industry. Principal Promila Malik welcomed all former students and expressed her commitment to always cherish and remember them. She hoped for continued support from all alumni. During the program, Chief Guest Justice Raj Rahul Garg mentioned promoting economically disadvantaged children studying at Kalka College.

Lecturer Ramchandra announced a contribution of 51,000 rupees, while Principal Mamta of Geeta Saraswati School announced an annual award of 11,000 rupees for the top student in English at the college. Additionally, all former students pledged to contribute to the progress of Kalka College. Various old students who have made their mark in different fields were also honored at the event, including IRS officer Anil Sood, DSP Manju Sharma, Rajni, former principal Kusum Ada, TS Saini, Promod Agrawal, RK Bhola, Surendra Sukhija, Professor Kuldeep Beniwal, Professor Kuldeep Singh, and former principals and teachers. The college students also presented cultural programs.

Third-year BA students Hardik, Neha, Kajal, Ravi, and first-year BA student Shubham performed group sitar renditions on devotional tunes, while first-year BA student Chasna sang a solo song. Ravi, a third-year BA student, presented Qawwali, while Hardik recited a Ghazal. First-year BA students Shabana, Preeti, Aanchal, and Veena performed Gidda.

Under the guidance of Dr. Poonam Rani and Professor Jagpal, the students presented a colorful program. The Alumni Meet organizing committee, under the guidance of Dr. Geetanjali, Dr. Neeru Sharma, Professor Geeta, Professor Sonu, Professor Dr. Navneet Nainsi, Assistant Professor Savita, and Dr. Shabnam Aroda, successfully organized the event. Alumni Meet members include Advocate Vijay Bansal, Harmel Singh, Jitendra, Arun Kumar, Sanjeev Bansal, and Dr. Ramchandra. The atmosphere of the entire college remained enthusiastic throughout the event.
