Governor celebrates Foundation Day with 13 states, UTs

On Wednesday, Governor Kalraj Mishra held discussions with the local people of Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry on the Foundation Day of these states at Raj Bhavan. He extended greetings to all on Foundation Day and said that all these states are symbols of unity in diversity in Indian culture. While maintaining harmony, he called for working together for brotherhood and goodwill. He said that the unity and integrity of the country come first, and for this, everyone needs to work together.

People of eight states and five union territories thanked Governor Kalraj Mishra for inviting them to celebrate the Foundation Day at Raj Bhavan and have a dialogue. The Governor said that today is very important because, on this day, the decision to reorganise states based on language was taken at the central government level. Discussing the cultural and historical specialities of various states, he said that every state has played a significant role in the formation of a united India. He invited the residents of all states to work together in a collective effort for the development of the country.

Uniqueness in diversity
Mishra said that the history, culture, and traditions associated with the daily life of each state connect us to our heritage. He said that India has a unique unity in diversity despite differences in language, living, and food. He said that this is why our country is a unique example of ‘One India, Great India’.

Representation for the people of the states
The people of Punjab were represented by Rajiv Arora, Kamala Vats of Haryana, Sanjeev Babu of Kerala, V.S.R. Murthy of Andhra Pradesh, and Usha Srinivas Rao of Telugu. Meanwhile, Himank of Madhya Pradesh made the Governor aware of the activities related to the people of their respective states and their culture. On this occasion, Chief Secretary of the Governor Subir Kumar and Principal Secretary Govind Ram Jaiswal were also present.
