Google has launched a new digital wallet for Android users in India, enabling them to securely store a variety of items such as cards, tickets, passes, keys, and IDs, an official announced on Wednesday.
Available for download on the Play Store, Google Wallet allows users to conveniently store their loyalty cards, gift cards, and more.
It is distinct from the Google Pay app, which is used for managing money and finances.
“Google Pay is not being replaced. It will remain our primary payments app. Google Wallet is specifically designed for non-payment purposes,” explained Ram Papatla, GM & India Engineering Lead, Android at Google.
