A delegation from African, South American, and South Asian countries explored PGIMER Chandigarh’s Telemedicine facilities. Hosted on December 8, 2023, the visit showcased PGIMER’s international significance. Dr. Amit Agarwal, Project Lead in the Department of Telemedicine, introduced ongoing initiatives, focusing on the Learning Management Information System (LMIS), tele-education, and Clinicopathological Conferences (CPCs).
The delegation, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, India, and CDAC, Mohali, included representatives from Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Syria, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Argentina, Kenya, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. Dr. Agarwal emphasized PGIMER’s role as a Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Telepathology.
Dr. Richa Gupta highlighted teleconsultation services, specifically e-Sanjeevani 2.0 under the AB-HWC project, NHM Haryana. The delegation witnessed live demonstrations, including e-prescription generation. Various consultants engaged with the delegation, fostering interactions and knowledge exchange.
The visit signifies PGIMER’s global impact in advancing healthcare through telemedicine and collaborative learning initiatives. The Department of Telemedicine continues to contribute to healthcare excellence and innovation, reflecting its designation as a Centre of Excellence in key areas by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
