ED conducts raids on drug syndicate connected to D-Gang

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out extensive raids on various properties linked to Asgar Ali Sheraji, a key figure in a drug syndicate, along with his associates and related premises in Mumbai. These raids were conducted following the registration of a money laundering case.
The raids were successfully concluded after an intensive operation. Asgar Ali Sheraji stands accused of orchestrating the illegal transportation of party drugs valued at over Rs 200 crore to multiple countries, falsely labeling them as medicines.
The ED’s money laundering case is based on a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Mumbai Police against Sheraji and other individuals involved in the drug syndicate.
In May, the anti-extortion cell of the Mumbai Police apprehended Sheraji at the city’s airport as he attempted to escape to Dubai.
Asgar Ali Sheraji is alleged to have ties to the Dawood Ibrahim gang through Danish Mulla. Numerous cases have been registered against Sheraji in the city, and he reportedly provided occasional information to security agencies, all while running his drug syndicate with the assistance of airport officials.
It is believed that Sheraji engaged in the illicit transport of party drugs, particularly ketamine, by misrepresenting them as medicines. Over the course of a year, his syndicate allegedly dispatched 72 shipments, with an estimated value of Rs 200 crore, via air cargo to destinations in Australia, the United Kingdom, and various European countries.
