In Rajasthan, the BJP has attacked the Chief Minister a day before the day of withdrawal of nominations. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has accused Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of hiding “two serious crimes” in the nomination. He also met the Chief Election Commissioner of Rajasthan on Wednesday and demanded action against the Chief Minister.
After meeting the Chief Electoral Officer, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “In the nomination papers filed by Ashok Gehlot ji for the upcoming elections, he has mentioned his role in the case registered against him under the section of two serious crimes hidden in the letter.”
He further said, “A case has been registered against Ashok Gehlot under relevant provisions in cases like land scam, robbery, forcibly entering someone’s house and playing with the modesty of a woman.”
The Union Minister said, “Action should be taken on this under Section 125A of the Representation of the People Act. A complaint was lodged with the Jodhpur Collector yesterday and was sent to the Chief Election Commissioner by e-mail at 4.30 pm. Now we have informed the State KD Chief Election Commissioner. Since this is a legal offence, take action against it.”
In this matter, a written complaint was submitted to Jodhpur Collector yesterday. Now, after the allegations of Jodhpur MP and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, politics in this matter has heated up. However, at present there is no response from CM Ashok Gehlot on these allegations. But the BJP is trying its best to corner the Chief Minister.
