Champions Cricket Academy secures 4-wicket win in women’s tournament

Chandigarh: Champions Cricket Academy, Landran, Kharar secured a victory by 4 wickets against Royal Cricket Academy-27, Chandigarh in the league match of the 1st Late RP Singh Women Seniors Cricket tournament held at IVCA Cricket Ground, Derabassi. Shibi from Champions Cricket Academy was honored with the Women of the Match Award for her excellent line, length bowling, and fielding, which led to claiming 2 wickets.

Batting first, Royal Cricket Academy-27, Chandigarh, managed to score only 110 runs in 31 overs. Shruti Tiwari contributed 27 runs, Twinkle Pathak scored 23 runs, Rajni Devi scored 15 runs, and Twinkle Thakur added 14 runs to the total. Champions Cricket Academy’s bowlers, Manu Rana and Shibi, each claimed 2 wickets, while Nikita Nain, Rakhi Dhir, and Riticia B Nongbet took 1 wicket each. In response, Champions Cricket Academy, Landran, Kharar successfully chased the target, reaching 111 runs in 30.3 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Opener batsman Nikita Nain scored a brilliant 33 runs, Har Simran Jit Kaur contributed 33 runs, and T. Rana finished with an unbeaten 19 runs. Royal Cricket Academy-27 bowlers Shruti Tiwari and Jyoti Mahla both claimed 2 wickets each.

The upcoming and final league match of the tournament is scheduled between Champions Cricket Academy, Landran, and Cricket With Nagesh Academy, Peermuchalla. The Final match will be held on March 28 at IVCA Cricket Ground, Derabassi, followed by the prize distribution ceremony at 3 p.m.
