BJP MULLS GIVING TICKETS TO PATIDARS IN LOCAL BODY POLLS

Once again in Gujarat, the BJP, alerted by the sudden rise of the Patidars’ voice during the local body elections, has started considering changing its strategy and giving tickets to Patidars in priority, as the BJP lost the 2015 district-taluka and municipal elections due to Patidar voters. At the time of the local body elections, a sudden message was sent to the BJP at Umiyadham in Ahmedabad, saying that the Leuva and Kadwa Patidar leaders were jointly excluding the Patidars from the government and administration. Since then, the BJP’s parliamentary board meeting has begun, in which candidates will be selected, in the meantime, the BJP is now likely to be forced to consider the names of the Patidars.

According to BJP sources, though damage like 2015 could not happen in the 2021 elections, the way the party has formed a panel of candidates did not have a strong voice of the Patidars. Now that the Patidars have shown unity, the Patidars have to reconsider. It is possible.

The political heat has spread in the state as the Patidars have come to a stage before the local body elections. Khodaldham Kagwad president Naresh Patel said at a Chintan meeting of the Kadwa and Leuva Patidar Samaj held at the same forum in Unjha Umiyadham two days ago that “Patidar Samaj is not taken into account in politics.” Khodaldham is to be constructed under the auspices of Kagwad Trust near Sander in Patan. Before going to inspect the place, Naresh Patel and other trustees paid a visit to Umiya Mataji, the family goddess of Kadva Patidars in Unjha.
