In a significant development, the Supreme Court, on Tuesday, granted bail to AAP leader Sanjay Singh in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy scam.
The decision by the apex court elicited praise from various quarters, including AAP leaders such as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Taking to social media platform X, Mann expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Truth always wins..Sanjay Singh got bail..Truth may be suppressed but truth never dies..Long live the revolution.” A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Dipankar Datta, and P.B. Varale issued the order for the release of Sanjay Singh, who had been detained for six months. The Enforcement Directorate, responsible for probing the case, stated that it had no objection to granting bail to the AAP leader. It’s noteworthy that Sanjay Singh, a senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, has secured bail after spending six months behind bars. The development marks a significant turn in the legal proceedings surrounding the case.
