7 individuals seize control of company warehouse, escaping with goods before arrest

Seven individuals, among them a scrap dealer, were apprehended for reportedly burglarizing a significant quantity of electrical items from a real estate company’s warehouse. Allegedly, they held the security guards captive at gunpoint on February 2nd. According to police, the suspects – Anuj alias Kallu, Sagar alias Bholli, Pawan, Akram, Harun, Niyazuddin, and Nazim – resorted to selling the stolen goods as scrap in an attempt to generate fast cash.

In the early hours of Feb 2, the youths allegedly barged into the godown of Ireo in Sector 56 after scaling the boundary wall. “They beat us up and took us hostage. They then fled with a large quantity of electrical items stored in the godown, worth several lakhs,” a security guard said.

An FIR was registered at Sector 56 police station and the case was handed over to the crime branch. A team led by inspector Sandeep Kumar, the officer in charge of the DLF 4 crime unit, arrested all seven on Sunday.
The investigation revealed that Nazim was running a scrap shop in Sector 65 and the rest were frequent visitors to his shop. One of the accused came to know about large quantities of materials being stored at the godown and told the others.

The men then hatched a plan to rob the godown to make quick money.
According to the police, the young individuals carried out multiple reconnaissance missions. ACP (crime) Varun Dahiya stated, “Following the theft of electrical items and various goods from the warehouse, Nazim sold them as scrap in his store, and the culprits distributed the earnings among themselves.
