Concerns have been raised over recent children’s death in the state of West Bengal. This time the state’s opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari is at the center of this. He wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister.
Several children have died at various hospitals in Malda, Jalpaiguri in North Bengal and Asansol and Durgapur in South Bengal. Hundreds of children are down with fever symptoms. Physicians are virtually asleep at the rate of pediatric illness, allege several readers. In this situation, the leader of the opposition took the state government with one hand. He taunted the state on Twitter. He complained, “The entire state administration is busy with the Bhabanipur by-election. That is the main goal of the administration now. My plea to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is that you please send a team of central experts to the state. Protect the children.” Suvendu Adhikari claims that about 650 children are being treated in North Bengal for this unusual fever. Shuvendu Adhikari also sent a letter to the Union Health Minister with the same request.
