The incident took place in Supertech Capetown, where the man, who lives in a rented apartment, was spotted by a resident clinging to the edge of a common staircase balcony. His entire body was hanging precariously, with only his hands gripping the concrete railing.
Upon hearing the alarm raised by a fellow resident, others quickly rushed to the scene. The man’s life hung in the balance as he dangled from the high-rise, but two quick-thinking men from the floors below sprinted to his aid. They managed to grab hold of him and pull him to safety, preventing what could have been a tragic fall.
The video of the rescue has spread widely on social media, with many praising the residents for their swift actions. Reports have identified the man as mentally challenged, and it is believed that he was attempting to die by suicide before the intervention.
