Everyone is awaiting the list of organizational appointments in the main opposition party, Congress in Haryana, however, the party could refrain from any discussion pertaining to the same in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Hyderabad.
In the wake of the upcoming assembly polls to be held next year, Deepak Babaria who holds the portfolio of the state party in charge, has started brainstorming regarding the list.
It is learnt that Babaria will submit the final list to the high command in the next 3 days. After he gets the green signal from the high command, the names of the district presidents of Haryana Congress will be announced by the end of the month. Notably, the possibility of delay in appointments in the Haryana Congress was expected and things remained unchanged. Although the party in charge had claimed that the district presidents would be announced on September 11-12, he could not succeed in doing so. Further, the list of Haryana Congress Organization was expected to be approved only after the meeting of CWC held in Hyderabad.
It is pertinent to mention that regarding the organizational set-up in Haryana, central and state observers have submitted their list to party in-charge Deepak Babaria. Following this, the state in charge has started mulling over the names of the list in Delhi, and meetings will be held for three consecutive days. The in charge will also discuss with senior leaders of the Haryana Congress regarding the names, after which he will submit his report to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal. After receiving the report of the in-charge, KC Venugopal is expected to have talks with the state party bigwigs namely former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda, State President Chaudhary Udaybhan, MP Deependra Singh Hooda, Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kumari Selja, Kiran Chaudhary and Captain Ajay Yadav. Some party leaders are of the opinion that the party’s high command does not seem in a position to neglect the choices of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda while declaring the final list. Besides, the suggestions of other leaders also will be taken into consideration. Everyone is pretty familiar with the long-running discord in the Haryana Congress between the Hooda faction, and Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kumari Selja, Kiran Chaudhary (SRK) faction. On one hand, efforts are being made to rebuild the Congress organization, which was dissolved 9 years ago.
