Year Ender 2025: The ODI windows in 2025 may not have received much notice, but they do seem to feature an interesting transition in bowling prowess. These bowlers are well-established in the business of taking wickets, thereby affecting the result of the contest or those relatively unknown but decisive in their current success, seem to feature in the top wicket-takers in this year. The performances of Matt Henry, Bernard Scholtz, Adil Rashid, Jayden Seales and Mitchell Santner seem to reveal this.

Matt Henry (New Zealand)

Matt Henry has been the benchmark for ODIs this season so far with 31 wickets in just 13 matches, the New Zealand fast bowler has been producing a good blend of line and movement to dismantle opposition top order line-ups.

The fact that his average is 18.58 and that too with so many wickets is a measure of not just his wicket-taking abilities but also of his control while performing under high-pressure situations. Matt Henry’s contributions to the New Zealand cricket team have been invaluable whether at the start of an innings or while defending a total at the end of an innings.

Matt Henry’s net worth is estimated at around USD 4 million approximately Rs.  34 crore. His income comes from New Zealand Cricket central contracts, international match fees and franchise cricket, including IPL and county stints in England.

Bernard Scholtz (Namibia)

Bernard Scholtz’s emergence has been one of the most remarkable things about 2025. The Namibian bowler has taken 30 wickets in 11 games with an average of just 10.33. In tougher matches, Scholtz has had to bank on flight, line and application rather than on pace.

This demonstrates not only that these associated sides are churning out quality bowlers who can deliver on match days, but also that these bowlers are not products of quality leagues.

Bernard Scholtz has an estimated net worth of about USD 2 million. His earnings largely stem from national contracts, ICC tournaments and league appearances reflecting steady growth for an associate nation cricketer.

Adil Rashid (England)

Adil Rashid is still the most dependable white-ball spinner for the English side. The fact that he has managed 30 wickets throughout the 15 matches he’s played is a testament to his continued adaptability in this rapidly changing format of the game. Rashid’s biggest strength lies not in the turn he generates, but rather the lack of variation between the deliveries he bowls.

Adil Rashid’s net worth is estimated at around GBP 2.1 million. A long standing England international, Rashid earns primarily through ECB contracts, international match fees and domestic cricket with consistent annual salaries over the years.

Jayden Seales (West Indies)

Jayden Seales remains a name that has flown under the radar but is an important player for West Indies in ODIs with 27 wickets in just 12 matches along with a five-wicket haul.

Jayden Seales has an estimated net worth of approximately USD 840,000. His income includes a Cricket West Indies central contract, international match fees and limited undisclosed franchise earnings as his career continues to develop.

Mitchell Santner (New Zealand)

Mitchell Santner completes the list with 25 wickets in 17 matches. His addition in the list will remain significant beyond numbers. Mitchell Santner’s strength remains his consistency, accuracy and his capability of taking wickets while remaining economical.

Mitchell Santner is the wealthiest among the five, with an estimated net worth of around USD 7 million (approximately Rs. 37.5 crore). His earnings come from New Zealand Cricket contracts, IPL appearances and regular participation in global T20 leagues.

In circumstances where batsmen have to be patient as well, Santner’s left arm spin has resulted in turning the tables in New Zealand’s favor on many occasions.
