Dream11’s sudden exit as Team India’s lead sponsor has left the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a tight spot and the gaming company pulled out right after Parliament passed the ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025,’ which bans real-money gaming platforms. This means that with the Asia Cup 2025 just weeks away, the BCCI now has to find a new sponsor and even re-print the jerseys for the national team. The tournament starts on September 9 in the UAE, and if the board cannot seal a deal in time, India may have to play the Asia Cup without a lead sponsor. Several sectors, from fintech to FMCG and big conglomerates, are already being talked about as possible replacements for Dream11.

Fintech Companies in the Race

Fintech apps like Zerodha, Angel One, and Groww have grown really fast over the past year as they made stock and mutual fund investing more accessible to regular people. If they grab the Team India sponsorship, they could reach millions of cricket fans and grow even faster. That makes them serious contenders to take the spot Dream11 has left vacant.

Auto And FMCG Giants Eye the Spot

The automobile and FMCG industries have always been big names in cricket sponsorship. From events to tournaments, they have invested heavily in sports. The Tata Group already sponsors the IPL as its principal partner. With Team India’s jersey up for grabs, some of these companies might step forward and use the chance to expand their reach on an international stage.

Reliance And Adani Could Step In

Reliance and the Adani Group already play a big role in Indian cricket. They have invested in the IPL and even the Women’s Premier League. Dream11’s exit now gives them an opening to take their involvement to the next level by sponsoring the Indian team. If either moves ahead, it will add long-term stability to India’s sponsorship setup.

Time Running Out For BCCI

The Asia Cup begins on September 9 and ends with the final on September 28. Dubai and Abu Dhabi will host the matches. With the clock ticking, BCCI has limited time to close a deal. If it does not happen, India could enter the Asia Cup without a sponsor logo on the jersey. The decision in the coming days will decide who takes the place of Dream11 and how sponsorships in Indian cricket shape up in the future.
