India pacer Jasprit Bumrah gave a fiery send-off to Pakistan’s Haris Rauf during the Asia Cup 2025 Final in Dubai on Sunday. The incident came in the 18th over when Bumrah bowled a stunning yorker to rattle Rauf’s off stump.
As Rauf walked back after scoring six runs, Bumrah mocked him by repeating the same gesture the Pakistan pacer had earlier used against Indian fans.
Rauf’s Gesture Against India
During the Super Fours stage, Haris Rauf had taunted Indian supporters near the boundary. Videos from the stands showed him gesturing a plane crashing down with his hand. The action was seen as a reference to the military conflict between India and Pakistan earlier this year.

The gesture led to major outrage, and Rauf was fined 30% of his match fee by the ICC for his behaviour.
Bumrah Responds in Style
On Sunday, Rauf tried to continue the fightback. He edged Bumrah for a boundary early in the over, adding fuel to the contest. But Bumrah bounced back with his trademark yorker. As the off stump flew, he mirrored Rauf’s plane gesture, sending social media into a frenzy.
The Mumbai Indians star ended his spell with figures of 3.1 overs, 25 runs, and 2 wickets. His victims included Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz, who both fell as India tightened its grip on the game.
India-Pakistan Rivalry Sparks Drama
The Asia Cup 2025 has seen heated moments between the two arch-rivals. Earlier in the tournament, India captain Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates refused to shake hands with Pakistani players after their group stage clash. Pakistan later complained to the ICC and threatened to boycott the event.
Tensions continued when Pakistan captain Salman Agha skipped the pre-match press conference before the Super Fours clash against India. Rauf’s controversial antics further fuelled the rivalry.
Verbal Spat in Super Fours
Rauf also had a heated altercation with Indian batter Abhishek Sharma during the Super Fours match. The argument added to the already intense atmosphere surrounding the fixture.
His gesture after that game drew widespread criticism, with fans and experts calling it inappropriate.
Pakistan Collapses After Strong Start
In the final, Pakistan looked strong at 84/1 inside 10 overs. However, they collapsed after India’s bowlers struck back in the middle overs. Rauf’s dismissal marked the turning point. The Pakistan innings folded for 146 runs, leaving India in full control.
Bumrah’s send-off not only symbolised payback but also reflected the high-voltage drama that has defined this year’s India-Pakistan clashes.
