The Frisco Police Department is investigating the death of Dallas Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland with possible reasons after his shocking demise. The 24-year-old defensive end was found dead in the early hours of November 6, following a police pursuit and a vehicle crash, according to authorities.
What Do the Police Say Happened?
The sequence of events began on the evening of November 5. Frisco police responded to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety in locating a vehicle that had evaded troopers. The pursuit entered the city of Frisco, where troopers later discovered the vehicle crashed on the southbound Dallas Parkway. According to the police news release, Kneeland fled the crash scene on foot. Officers established a perimeter and initiated a search using K-9 and drone units.

Marshawn Kneeland Cause of Death
A critical detail emerged during the search that shifted the nature of the operation. Police stated that officers were informed Kneeland had “expressed suicidal ideations.” The search concluded tragically at 1:31 a.m. on November 6, when Kneeland’s body was found. The police report indicated the cause was “what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office will establish the official cause and manner of death while the inquiry is still continuing.

Marshawn Kneeland was a young and promising professional athlete in his second season with the Dallas Cowboys .After attending Western Michigan University for his college career, the team selected him in the second round of the 2024 draft. He participated in seven games this season and recorded twelve tackles and one sack. He notably scored a touchdown on a blocked punt return just days before his death in a November 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
