HEUNG-MIN CELEBRATING STORY: Los Angeles FC advanced to the Western Conference semifinals with a dominant 4-1 victory over Austin FC on Sunday (November 2) evening, completing a sweep of their best-of-three round one series. Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-Min led the third-seeded LAFC with standout performances, each contributing goals and assists. Bouanga scored twice, marking his 100th and 101st goals for LAFC across all competitions, and his 31st and 32nd goals this season. Son opened the scoring in the 21st minute after receiving an outlet pass from Bouanga and firing a precise finish past goalkeeper Brad Stuver. Bouanga added his first goal just four minutes later, converting a pass from Son during a swift counterattack. Austin's Dani Pereira netted a penalty late in the first half to make it 3-1, but the sixth-seeded hosts were ultimately eliminated by LAFC for the second consecutive postseason, following their loss in the 2022 Western Conference final.
