The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Apollo Tyres as the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team. The agreement will last until March 2028, replacing the previous sponsorship by Dream11.
This comes after the Indian government banned betting-related applications, ending the BCCI’s deal with Dream11.
Details of the Partnership
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced a landmark partnership with Apollo Tyres, a leader in the global tyre industry, as the new lead sponsor of Team India. This marks Apollo Tyres’ first-ever foray into Indian cricket, a strategic move to align with a sport that resonates deeply with the nation,” the BCCI said.

Under the deal, the Apollo Tyres logo will appear on the jerseys of both the Indian men’s and women’s teams across all formats.
Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 4.5 crore per match to the BCCI, surpassing Dream11’s earlier contribution of Rs 4 crore per match. With India’s busy international calendar, this partnership promises strong global visibility and becomes one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals in recent Indian cricket history.
BCCI Officials Comment
“The arrival of Apollo Tyres as our new sponsor is a testament to the hard work and consistent performance of our teams. This is more than a commercial agreement; it’s a partnership between two institutions that have earned the trust and respect of millions,” said Devajit Saikia, BCCI secretary.
“We are delighted to welcome Apollo Tyres as our new lead sponsor. This is a momentous occasion, bringing together two of India’s most powerful and enduring legacies: the unwavering spirit of Indian cricket and the pioneering legacy of Apollo Tyres. The competitive nature of the bidding process highlights the strong market confidence in the BCCI and the global brand of Team India. We are confident that this partnership will be a driving force for mutual growth and success,” added Rajeev Shukla, BCCI vice-president.
Background
The BCCI had been without a jersey sponsor since the government banned real-money gaming platforms, including Dream11, under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025. The legislation prohibits offering, promoting, or advertising online money gaming services.
The Indian cricket team has been playing the Asia Cup in Dubai without a title sponsor. A senior BCCI official said, “The deal has been signed with Apollo Tyres. We will announce it soon.”
Value of the Deal
The three-year agreement with Apollo Tyres is reportedly valued at Rs 579 crore, significantly higher than the Rs 358 crore deal with Dream11 for the same period. It covers 121 bilateral matches and 21 ICC events, ensuring wide exposure for the tyre manufacturer.
