Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup in the coming months, and a new leak has now revealed almost everything about the camera upgrades on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

With only weeks left before the expected announcement, the latest leak gives users the clearest look yet at how Samsung plans to boost low-light photography and overall camera performance.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Camera Features

A well-known tipster, UniverseIce, posted an image on X  that shows the camera file details of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to this leak, Samsung is keeping the same 200MP main camera but changing the aperture to F1.4. The leak says this adjustment will allow the sensor to pull in more light than before.

This simple change makes a big difference. The camera can deliver brighter, sharper, and cleaner photos, especially during night shots. If this leak is accurate, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will offer a noticeable upgrade over the Galaxy S25 Ultra in low-light performance.

What Upgrades Will the Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera Offer?

The leak further states that Samsung will continue using the ISOCELL HP2 sensor for the main camera. This sensor measures 1/1.3 inches and has 0.6μm pixels. It also supports 10-bit and 12-bit RAW shooting and is already known for producing strong colours and detailed images.

Samsung adds features like Dual Slope Gain (DSG) and Smart ISO Pro (iDCG) to improve dynamic range. These technologies help the camera balance bright areas and dark shadows in the same shot. The sensor also supports pixel binning and can shoot in 12.5MP, 50MP, and full 200MP resolution, depending on what the user prefers.

Quad-Camera Setup Stays, but With Improvements

If the leaks are right, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will again feature a four-camera setup:

  • Primary: 200MP ISOCELL HP2, F1.4, OIS, Super QPD autofocus
  • Ultrawide: 50MP, F1.9, autofocus
  • Telephoto: 10MP/12MP, F2.4, 3x optical zoom, OIS
  • Super Telephoto: 50MP, F2.9, 5x optical zoom, OIS

This setup shows that Samsung will continue pushing a hybrid telephoto system. The company focuses on maintaining sharp zoom quality while improving low-light capability across all lenses.

Front Camera & Video Upgrades

Reports say the Galaxy S26 series will keep the 12MP front camera from the Galaxy S25 series. However, a wider camera cutout could help capture better selfies and videos. This change may also improve face detection and low-light performance.

The new Exynos 2600 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets may also enhance processing, giving photos and videos a cleaner and more detailed look. All S26 models are expected to support the new APV (Advanced Professional Video) codec. This codec promises better-quality video recording, reduced noise, improved editing, and stronger stabilisation.

Samsung Shifts Focus to Night Photography Domination

Samsung appears to be preparing for a major push toward dominating the night photography category. The jump to an F1.4 aperture, combined with processing upgrades, shows that Samsung wants the Galaxy S26 Ultra to challenge low-light kings like Google Pixel and Vivo X-series devices. This shift also hints that the S26 Ultra may become Samsung’s most reliable camera for social media creators who often shoot at night.
