OnePlus the new series of leaks affords fans a first glimpse of what could be the next flagship. The leak by the usually trusted tipster, Sudhanshu Ambhore, on X (previously Twitter) shows a marked deviation from the previous design language. The most striking change visible on the renders is the departure from the trademark circular camera module that was seen on the OnePlus 13 and its predecessors to a square camera island with rounded edges. The module appears to house three lenses, matching previous leaks regarding a new camera setup.

Moreover, the 15 is said to arrive in stark Black, Purple and Titanium finishes, signaling an attempt to accentuate boldness in aesthetics come 2025.

OnePlus 15: Storage and Performance

If the leaks are to be trusted, the OnePlus 15 will come in various configurations meant to cater to both power users and average consumers. Reportedly it may launch with:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB or 512GB storage
  • 16GB RAM + 256GB or 512GB storage
  • A super-premium 16GB RAM + 1TB storage model

Under the hood, benchmark listings strongly suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (Gen 5) processor will power the device. This next-generation chipset promises a large jump in power in gaming and multitasking. It is reported that the CPU will consist of two ultra-fast prime cores clocked at 4.61GHz along with six efficiency cores running at 3.63GHz.

Display and Battery Possibilities

Leaked images point toward a 6.78 inch flat LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution and a combustive 165Hz refresh rate and a most suitable update for mobile gamers and streamers alike.

Perhaps the most phenomenal talk concerning these rumors is the battery; if real, the OnePlus 15 will sport a capacity of 7,000mAh+, eventually becoming one of the slimmest flagships. 100W wired fast charging is also expected to accompany this, and we still await thorough details on wireless charging. If true, this will put the OnePlus 15 in the running for one of the longest-lasting premium smartphones.

OnePlus 14 Mystery

There are speculations about whether OnePlus is skipping the OnePlus 14 altogether. Traditionally, number four is considered unlucky in Chinese superstition, and many companies avoid product naming using it. This could be a plausible reason for OnePlus to skip the 14 rights onto the 15.

The OnePlus 13, which launched in 2024, constituted top-tier specifications with up to 24GB RAM, thus making it one of the most powerful smartphones of its time. Whether or not the company truly comes out and states their reasons behind this naming scheme and the missing model adds another layer of intrigue.

OnePlus 15 5G: Global Launch Date

Reports divulge that OnePlus 15 5G shall be launched in China tentatively in October 2025, followed by a global launch in January 2026. The phone is likely to come with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, offering an optimized software experience.

With the whispers of avant garde hardware, a daring design approach and software built for next generation performance, the OnePlus 15 is all set to be one of the most noted Android flagships of 2025-26. It would be worth the wait for anyone contemplating their next major smartphone upgrade.
