Apple is all set to launch the new model of the series, iPhone 17, on September 9. This year the phone is expected to bring noticeable changes as compared to the previous model, iPhone 16.
From design to camera quality, here are the expected modifications in the new model. Let’s break it down:
Design and Display
Although the new model iPhone 17 may look a lot similar to the previous one, but reportedly it can feature a slightly larger display screen of from 6.1-inch in iPhone 16 to 6.3-inch in the upgraded model.

The base model could feature a 120 Hz ProMotion OLED Screen for the first time ever. Apple is also rumoured to use Samsung’s M14 OLED panel for higher brightness, longer durability, and better efficiency.
Some leaks also point to ‘Always-On-Display’, but the doubts are still unclear.
Better Performance
The iPhone 17 is likely to be powered by Apple’s latest A19 chipset. In contrast to the previous reports that suggested a 2nm process, the chip will be built on TSMC’s 3nm node. The users can still expect enhanced efficiency and better performance, especially in AI-driven features. The phone is also rumoured to arrive with 12GB RAM, however, the company has not verified this news.

iOS26 and Liquid Glass
The phone will come with an updated iOS 26, introducing Apple’s Liquid Glass design language. This brings a translucent look to the buttons and icons. Where some users loved the new look, others criticized it, leading Apple to add a feature to turn it off. Features like Call Screening, Live Translate, and a refreshed Camera app are also included in the update.
Camera and Battery
The iPhone 17 is expected to arrive with a 48 MP main + 12 MP ultrawide dual camera setup. It will have improved image processing with the installation of the new chip. A major upgrade also involves a 24MP front camera, which is double the resolution of the iPhone 16’s front lens.

A larger battery and reverse wireless charging, which allows other Apple products like Apple Watch and AirPods to be charged via iPhone, are also expected to come with the iPhone 17.
