Electronic Arts has revealed full details for the Battlefield 6 open beta, including maps, multiplayer modes, early access dates, and in-game challenges. The beta will roll out over two weekends this August, beginning August 9. Players can now pre-load the beta on all supported platforms. Those who registered for Battlefield Labs before July 31 or subscribed to EA Play Pro will get early access starting August 7.
The first weekend offers three unique maps, five game modes, and seven challenges. Week two expands the experience with a fourth map, two additional modes, and three more challenges. EA confirmed that rewards from these challenges will carry over into the full game when it launches on October 10, 2025. The open beta runs on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA App.
First Beta Weekend: New Maps and Game Modes

- Iberian Offensive
Different battle zones are incorporated into each map’s design to accommodate a variety of gameplay types. These settings change according to the particular game mode being used.

Preloading Is Open—Platforms and Access
Pre-loading has officially begun across all platforms. Players can access the beta through:
PS5
Xbox Series S/X
PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App)
Preloading ensures a head start when the servers go live. EA Play Pro subscribers and Battlefield Labs registrants (before July 31) get priority access from August 7.
EA Seeks Real-Time Community Feedback
EA seems to be testing player reactions in real time, going beyond merely a playable teaser. In this open beta, which is split into two weekends and stacked tasks, the developer is most likely using data to modify class usage, map dynamics, and balancing.

Battlefield Labs early access testers, who are already part of EA’s feedback loop, hint at a deeper objective: developing a game with community-driven changes. This is consistent with EA’s broader practice of creating user experiences in real time before full releases.
