Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav congratulated Nitish Kumar as he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar once again, marking his fifth consecutive term and tenth oath overall.

In a post on X, Tejashwi wrote, “Hearty congratulations to Nitish Kumar on taking the oath as the chief minister of Bihar. Heartiest wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who were sworn in as members of the council of ministers.” He added, “I hope that the new government will live up to the aspirations and expectations of responsible citizens, fulfil its promises and declarations, and bring positive and qualitative change to the lives of the people of Bihar.”

Alongside Nitish Kumar, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also took oath as the Deputy Chief Ministers in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other senior leaders of the NDA. A total of 18 cabinet ministers were sworn in during the ceremony.

RJD Response After Election Defeat

Following a major electoral setback in the Bihar Assembly elections, the RJD shared its reaction with a message of resilience and commitment. The party posted on X, “Public service is an unceasing process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable in it. No sorrow in defeat, no arrogance in victory. The Rashtriya Janata Dal is the party of the poor. It will continue to raise their voice among the poor.”

Election Results: NDA Registers Big Win

In the recently concluded polls, the NDA achieved a landslide victory, securing 202 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the largest party with 89 seats, followed by Janata Dal (United) with 85 seats. Meanwhile, the RJD managed to win only 25 seats, and the Congress secured six seats.

Bihar New Government Ministers

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) registered a sweeping victory, winning 202 of the 243 seats contested, while the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan (MGB) managed only 35 seats. Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Chief Minister for a record tenth time, and Samrat Chaudhary along with Vijay Kumar Sinha also took oath again as Deputy Chief Ministers. For the first time in history, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in a Bihar Assembly election. The RJD, led by Tejashwi Yadav, slipped to third place for the first time since 2010, whereas Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) registered its strongest performance since 2010. The Congress had a disappointing outcome, while the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha won seats for the first time.
