Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the Opposition’s Mahagathbandhan during a rally in Bhagalpur on Thursday. He accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of taking the Chief Ministerial candidacy from Congress by putting a “katta” (country-made gun) to the party’s head.

The remarks came as the first phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections is underway. The Prime Minister also highlighted the large turnout of women voters, praising their enthusiasm and participation.

Modi Criticizes Congress and RJD

Addressing the rally, Modi accused Congress leaders of claiming that their party is the “big one” while labeling RJD as a “small tag-along.” He said that RJD challenged Congress’s arrogance and snatched the CM candidacy.

“For the past few months, Congress leaders have been claiming that their party is the big one and RJD is just a small tag-along. But the RJD has challenged this arrogance of Congress, challenged the arrogance of their ‘Namdaar’ (an apparent reference to Rahul Gandhi) and by putting a ‘katta’ (country-made gun) to Congress’s head, they’ve snatched away the candidacy for the CM position,” Modi said, according to ANI.

The Prime Minister further warned that Congress is now seeking revenge against the RJD. He criticized party leaders for betraying allies for power and questioned their commitment to Bihar.

“Now, Congress folks are gearing up to take revenge on RJD. The Congress ‘Namdaar’ has been missing for quite some time. People say that he didn’t even want to come to Bihar; he was forcibly brought here. But now, they are instead causing harm to RJD itself. Those who can betray their own comrades for the sake of power’s interests can never be well-wishers of Bihar,” he added.

Modi Highlights RJD’s Past Rule

Modi condemned RJD’s past governance in Bihar, calling it a period marked by “katta” (guns), “kroorta” (cruelty), “katuta” (bitterness), “kushasan” (misgovernance), and corruption. He criticized the party’s focus on kidnapping, ransom, and dynasty rule.

“In the curriculum of RJD, a stands for ‘apharan’ (kidnapping), f for ‘firauti’ (ransom), and p for ‘parivarvaad’ (dynasty rule),” he said.

Women Voters Make Their Presence Felt

The Prime Minister praised women voters for their enthusiasm in the first phase of polling. He said their participation is like a fortress against misgovernance and jungle raj.

“Seeing the enthusiasm of voters for the first phase of voting, and the information I’ve received so far, paints a spectacular picture. Our mothers and sisters are voting with great enthusiasm. The daughters of Bihar are standing like a wall today to keep Bihar away from jungle raj, and they have formed a line at the voting booth like a fortress,” Modi said, according to ANI.

He also emphasized women’s safety and recognition under the current government.

“Women’s safety has been ensured in Bihar. Mothers and sisters have received respect, and that is why they are voting in large numbers today, breaking all voting records. Congress and RJD ruled Bihar for decades, but they never remembered to create Jeevika Didi…” he added.

Bihar Elections Update

Polling for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is underway, with the second phase scheduled for November 11. Results will be declared on November 14.

The opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD and Congress, has announced Tejashwi Prasad Yadav as its CM candidate and Mukesh Sahani of Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP) as the deputy CM face for the elections.

PM Modi’s rally and remarks have intensified political discourse in Bihar, keeping the focus on leadership, governance, and voter engagement.
