Bihar Election 2025: During the first phase of the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, RJD leader and Rashtriya Janata Dal’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, along with his wife Rajshree Yadav, arrived at a polling station in Patna to cast their votes.

Yadav’s confident proclamation of “a new government will be formed on November 14” before voting set the tone for his campaign and alliance.

After casting his ballot, Tejashwi Yadav said: “14 November ko nayi sarkaar banne wali hai” – On 14 November a new government will be formed.

This statement underlined his belief in a comeback for the Mahagathbandhan and led to many seeing him as a powerful chief ministerial candidate to lead the state.

Bihar Election 2025: Who is Tejashwi Yadav?

Tejashwi Yadav, born on 9 November 1989, is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Union Minister Rabri Devi.

Yadav is the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the chief ministerial candidate of this party for the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.

Known for his youthful energy and active engagement with the electorate, Tejashwi has grown into a formidable political force in Bihar’s politics, spearheading the causes of youth employment, social equality, and development initiatives.

Bihar Election 2025: Tejashwi Yadav’s Journey

Tejashwi Yadav’s political journey started with the legacy of his family but was quickly molded by his own initiatives. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and, ever since then, has been one of the key opposition leaders in the state assembly.

Over the years, he has been targeting young voters on issues related to urban and rural development and governance matters pertaining to the state. It is a rise influenced by factors including political inheritance, personal charisma, and strategic engagement that catapults him as the face of Mahagathbandhan in its efforts to challenge the NDA government.
