Srinagar, October 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a residential property in the Danihama area of Hazratbal in Srinagar for its alleged use in harbouring Pakistani terrorists linked to the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit and concealing material connected with a cross-border terror conspiracy.

The property, located at Khasra No. 315 in Village Danihama and belonging to accused Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas, was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after obtaining prior approval from the Director General of the NIA.

According to the agency, the investigation has established a direct link between the residential premises and the alleged terror conspiracy, with the property purportedly used as a safe haven for Pakistani terrorists and for concealing incriminating material associated with the network.

The case was initially registered as FIR No. 24/2026 on March 31, 2026, at Police Station Zakoora in Srinagar. It was subsequently taken over and re-registered by the NIA as case RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU.

The investigation has reportedly uncovered a network of local overground workers (OGWs) allegedly operating in coordination with Pakistan-based LeT handlers to facilitate the infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support of Pakistani terrorists. The network was allegedly intended to assist terrorist attacks against government establishments, security forces and civilians.

A search conducted by the investigating agencies on April 6, 2026, at Mir’s residential premises in Danihama led to the detection of two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib, who were allegedly associated with the LeT, the NIA said.

An explosive-like substance, digital devices and other incriminating material were also recovered and seized during the search.

The agency’s investigation further alleged that Mir had knowingly provided his residential premises as a safe shelter for the suspected terrorists and allowed the property to be used to facilitate their activities.

The attachment marks another step in the ongoing investigation into the alleged support network behind the cross-border terror conspiracy in Jammu and Kashmir.

The NIA said the investigation was continuing to identify and expose the entire network, including other suspected OGWs, facilitators and individuals allegedly linked to Pakistan-based handlers.

Further investigation is underway.
