MLA Shaktirani Sharma lays foundation stones; development works worth ₹91.41 crore gain momentum in 16 months

Giving a new direction to development in the Kalka Assembly constituency, Kalka MLA Mrs. Shaktirani Sharma laid the foundation stones for 17 development works worth approximately ₹13.99 crore (₹1399.64 lakh) in various wards of the Kalka Municipal Council during a programme held at Bhagwan Parshuram Bhawan, Bitna Road, Pinjore. These projects will further strengthen basic infrastructure in the area and provide better civic amenities to residents.

The projects include construction of roads and streets in various wards, laying of interlocking paver blocks, development of a park in Khilla Colony, construction of a boundary wall and shed at the graveyard in Islam Nagar, construction of a cremation ground in Manakpur Devi Lal, installation of benches at public places, and installation of a modern smart street lighting system. The largest project involves the installation of a smart street lighting system, energy meters, CCMS panels, and a command and control centre in the Kalka Municipal Council area, for which approximately ₹10.83 crore will be spent.

On the occasion, MLA Shaktirani Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is working with a vision of balanced development and that development works in the Kalka Assembly constituency are progressing at an unprecedented pace.

She said:

“Development in the Kalka Assembly constituency is no longer limited to promises but is clearly visible on the ground. Even in areas where development works had not taken place for years, roads, streets, lighting, drinking water and other basic facilities are now being developed rapidly. Our goal is not merely to announce development projects but to complete them within a fixed timeframe and ensure that people benefit from them.”

MLA Shaktirani Sharma said that during the last 16 months, development works worth approximately ₹77.74 crore have been approved and accelerated in the Kalka Municipal Council area. With the inclusion of the projects whose foundation stones were laid today, the figure has increased to ₹91.41 crore. She said this amount reflects the commitment of the government and public representatives towards the overall development of the region.

She said development works are being carried out in every ward of the Municipal Council area without any discrimination and that the process will continue in the future as well. Development projects are being implemented in a planned manner after identifying local needs on a priority basis.

Referring to the long-standing drinking water problem in the Kalka area, Shaktirani Sharma said the state government is seriously working towards a permanent solution. She informed that the process of installing large tube wells at Kaushalya Dam is underway. After completion of the project, the long-pending drinking water problem in Kalka, Pinjore and nearby areas will be permanently resolved, ensuring adequate and regular water supply to residents.

She expressed confidence that upon completion of these projects, basic infrastructure in the Kalka Municipal Council area will become stronger, transportation will improve, public amenities will expand and citizens’ quality of life will improve positively.

Dignitaries and local residents present at the programme expressed gratitude to MLA Shaktirani Sharma for the development works, stating that the pace of development in the region is directly benefiting the public and that the Kalka Assembly constituency is steadily progressing.
