On the eve of New Year, while traveling in a car with two friends, a group of nearly half a dozen youths attacked them. The youths severely beat all three and left them bleeding. The incident occurred near the Eintwala Chowk of Shimlapuri area, close to the Har Krishan Public School. As the victims tried to escape, the attackers chased and continued assaulting them.
When people began gathering, the assailants fled the scene after snatching the car occupants’ mobile phones and cash. A video of the incident went viral, depicting the attackers assaulting and damaging the car. Upon receiving information, the Shimlapuri police reached the scene. The injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The injured individuals were identified as businessman Rohit Garg from Jain Nagar, Ajay Jindal, and ‘AAP’ leader Gagan Kumar Gaggi.
Injured Rohit explained that they were headed to a restaurant near Inder Nagar Bridge to have dinner after attending a religious event in their area. However, they encountered a group of three motorcycles and two Activas approaching from the opposite direction. As they passed by, the youths started abusing them without any reason and blocked their car. As soon as the car stopped, the youths began assaulting them.
The attackers started pelting stones at their car, causing severe damage. Throughout the assault, the attackers kept hurling abuses and threatening them. During this, someone recorded the incident, capturing the entire assault. Rohit mentioned that Ajay received nine deep injuries, he had four, and their third friend was also severely injured. A complaint has been lodged with the police, and they are taking action regarding this matter.
