Muskan Rana, a 15-year-old rhythmic gymnast and a trainee at the Gymnastics Academy of J&K Sports Council, has brought immense pride to the Union Territory by securing five medals at the Khelo India Youth Games 2024 in Chennai.

In this national championship, Muskan demonstrated her exceptional talent, earning one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. Her remarkable achievements contribute to the growing success of Jammu and Kashmir in the field of rhythmic gymnastics.

The Gymnastics Academy, established at Jammu’s M A Stadium by J&K Sports Council, plays a pivotal role in nurturing budding talents like Muskan. Equipped with world-class infrastructure and led by Arjuna Awardee coach Krupali Singh, the academy has been recognized as a Khelo India Academy for Gymnastics of national repute by the Sports Authority of India.

Over the past two years, athletes from this academy have clinched an impressive tally of 8 gold, 15 silver, and 9 bronze medals in national games, Khelo India Youth Games, and national championships. Additionally, 11 athletes from the academy have represented India in international competitions.

Muskan Rana, along with other regular trainees, has consistently made a mark in national and international competitions. Notable accomplishments include Muskan Rana and Bavleen Kour winning the best gymnasts of India titles in 2021 and 2022 at the Khelo India Games.

Recently, Muskan Rana, along with Manya, Vabhavi Sharma, and Jagriti Thakur, secured the Team Championships in the Junior National Championships held in Bangalore, with the senior team earning a silver medal for the UT.

In a span of three years, 13 gymnasts from the academy have competed at the international level, securing an impressive total of 80 medals, including 25 gold, 34 silver, and 21 bronze in various National Games and Championships. The success of the Gymnastics Academy of J&K Sports Council reflects the commitment and support provided by the J&K government, particularly under the dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who also serves as the President of J&K Sports Council. The continuous assistance in terms of infrastructure, equipment, and training programs has undoubtedly contributed to the academy’s recognition as one of the leading gymnastics institutions in the country.
