Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget in Parliament on Thursday.
When questioned about the budget outside the Parliament, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma praised it, calling it a remarkable allocation that addresses all sections of society. Despite being an interim budget, Sharma highlighted its focus on income tax payers, providing significant relief for those with small, disputed tax demands. The measure is expected to benefit over one crore people with income tax cases ranging from less than 10 lakh to 25 lakh.
Sharma commended the government’s holistic approach, emphasising its consideration for various sectors, including startups, the New Education Policy, and Ayushman Bharat. Notably, efforts have been made to improve the conditions of Anganwadi workers, ensuring a thorough evaluation to integrate them into mainstream society.
In conclusion, Sharma expressed his approval, describing the government’s budget as wonderful and applauding its comprehensive impact. He acknowledged the positive steps taken to address the diverse needs of the population across different sectors.
