The state experienced the coldest night of the season so far as a chilly breeze from North India led to a significant temperature drop in 11 cities, including Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer. On Tuesday, Mount Abu witnessed snowfall for the third consecutive day. Additionally, areas in Jhalawar, Baran, Udaipur, and Dungarpur saw light clouds in the morning due to the impact of a system in the Arabian Sea.
On Tuesday, Mount Abu recorded a minimum temperature of minus one degree Celsius. Fatehpur near Sikar also saw light layers of snow, with the temperature dropping to 0.7 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists suggest that after the departure of the Western Disturbance in North India, cold winds have now started reaching the plains directly. This has resulted in a temperature drop in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
The capital city, Jaipur, experienced its coldest night of the season on Monday, with a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, compared to 11.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Rural areas also witnessed intense cold on Tuesday, but with the rise of the day and the appearance of the sun, the impact of the cold lessened. In Kota, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday for the first time this season. Churu reported a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
Similar low temperatures were recorded in other cities like Karauli, Dholpur, Chittorgarh, Sikar, Pilani, Bhilwara, Pali, and Udaipur during this season.
