Miracle in Dausa: Two-Year-Old Rescued from Borewell After 18-Hour Struggle

After an intensive 18-hour rescue operation, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully saved a two-year-old girl who had fallen into a 35-foot open borewell in Dausa. The rescue took place on Thursday.

Following her rescue, the girl was promptly taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention. SP Ranjita Sharma praised the efforts of the NDRF and SDRF teams, expressing relief and gratitude for the successful outcome. “We are thrilled to have rescued the girl after such a challenging operation. Thanks to the dedicated work of the teams, we managed to bring her to safety,” she stated.

Yogesh Kumar from the NDRF explained that the girl was trapped at a depth of 28 feet, and a parallel excavation was initiated to reach her. “We encountered difficulties while trying to secure her within the borewell. We reached her sandal at 21 feet, which marked our first major breakthrough. Ensuring her safety was our top priority. The rainy weather complicated our efforts, extending the duration of the operation. A total of 30 personnel from the NDRF and 10 from the SDRF participated in the rescue,” Kumar reported.

Earlier in the day, District Collector Devendra Kumar highlighted the ongoing challenges posed by the rain, which hampered the rescue efforts. “Despite the weather conditions, we have been diligently working in both parallel and horizontal directions to retrieve the girl,” he said. The incident occurred in the Bandikui area of Dausa on Wednesday, prompting immediate action from the district administration.
