The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Israeli Air Force (IAF) fighter jets carried out overnight airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon’s Bekaa region. The strikes were aimed at neutralizing threats to Israeli territory and military forces.

Weapons Production and Smuggling Routes Hit

Among the targets attacked was a military site with underground infrastructure used for weapons development and production. The IDF also targeted transit routes along the Syria-Lebanon border, which Hezbollah allegedly uses to smuggle arms into Lebanon.

Drone Violation Escalates Tensions

In addition, the IDF stated that an incoming Hezbollah drone was intercepted by Israeli forces on Thursday. The drone’s incursion was considered a breach of security understandings between Israel and Lebanon, further escalating tensions between the two nations.

Growing Regional Tensions

This latest strike comes amid increasing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, with cross-border clashes intensifying in recent months. Israel has repeatedly warned against Hezbollah’s military buildup and arms transfers, citing security threats.
