The Central Urban Development Ministry will conduct a cleanliness survey to determine the ranking of cities in cleanliness. In preparation for this, the Greater Municipal Corporation has initiated preparations.
To improve the cleanliness survey ranking, the Mayor of the Corporation, Dr Soumya Gurjar, has instructed officials involved in sanitation work to stay in the field and ensure proper arrangements.
The Mayor stated, “Everyone’s meaningful efforts are necessary to correct the ranking of the Greater Municipal Corporation in the cleanliness survey. This requires the active participation of sanitation workers as well as responsible officials.” She has also directed all zone commissioners to spend two hours in the field in the morning to oversee cleanliness activities. Additionally, she emphasised that proper supervision of door-to-door garbage collection in the city will ensure the timely removal of waste from homes.
Officials involved in sanitation work should also improve the system for this purpose.
Dr Soumya instructed officials to capture stray animals in the city and transport them to the Hingonia Rehabilitation Center, addressing those who dump fodder for animals on the streets and near religious places. She emphasised strict action against those who do not comply with instructions after initial warnings. She urged the removal of accumulated garbage from places where it is dumped in the city to keep the city clean.
