On Tuesday, Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor Soumya Gurjar, along with officials, initiated a special cleanliness campaign by sweeping outside the SMS Hospital with a broom. Similarly, Heritage Municipal Corporation Mayor Munesh Gurjar and newly appointed legislator Bal Mukundacharya began the campaign by sweeping outside the Govind Dev Ji Temple. At places where garbage and litter were visible on the roads, officials were reprimanded. Seeing the litter, legislator Bal Mukundacharya scolded the officials, saying, “This is a municipal hell.”
Health and zone officials also took part in the cleanliness campaign under the Swachhata Abhiyan (Cleanliness Fortnight). Health Officer Navin Bharadwaj, along with other zone officials, also participated by using brooms. The Mayor discussed with sanitation workers and directed them to clean the entire Tonk Road during the campaign.
Upon observing litter near the hospital, the Mayor expressed her displeasure and said, “If you people keep littering, how will the city stay clean? If you throw garbage on the streets, I will get these baskets removed.”
The campaign began at Govind Dev Ji Temple in Heritage Municipal Corporation. Mayor Munesh Gurjar, along with newly appointed legislator Bal Mukundacharya and Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, initiated the campaign by sweeping with a broom.
