Mark Cuban Congratulates Trump and Musk on White House Win Before Official Race Call
Mark Cuban, a prominent supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris, congratulated former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk before the race was officially decided, as vote counting continued in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.
On Wednesday morning, as Trump was on the verge of winning Pennsylvania—a crucial state for Harris—Cuban took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to post his congratulations. “You won fair and square,” Cuban wrote, also extending his congratulations to Musk, a major Trump donor and strong advocate for the GOP. Cuban’s message read: “Congrats to @elonmusk as well. #Godspeed.”
Cuban, known for his role on *Shark Tank*, initially backed President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign but shifted his support to Harris after she became the Democratic nominee. He had been actively campaigning for Harris, making appearances at rallies in key battleground states such as Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
However, Cuban was not alone in expressing belief that Trump was on track for a return to the White House. Elon Musk, one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, also weighed in on the developing results, declaring that the American people had given Trump a “crystal clear mandate for change” in his own post on X.
At the time of Cuban’s post, Trump was leading in several critical swing states, including two major battlegrounds, and was favored to secure the necessary electoral votes.
Meanwhile, Cedric Richmond, co-chair of the Harris-Walz campaign, addressed the delay in Harris’s response, saying around 1 a.m. ET that she would not speak to supporters at Howard University on Tuesday night as initially planned. Instead, Harris was expected to address the nation on Wednesday morning. Richmond emphasized that the campaign would continue to ensure that every vote was counted and that all voices were heard.
Representatives for Cuban and the Harris campaign did not respond to requests for further comment.
