The Bharat New Car Assessment Program (B-NCAP) has awarded top safety ratings to three Mahindra SUVs: the Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO, and XUV400. Each of these models achieved a prestigious five-star rating in B-NCAP’s rigorous safety tests, marking a significant milestone for Mahindra’s lineup.

Thar Roxx: First Body-on-Frame SUV to Achieve 5-Star Rating

The Thar Roxx, Mahindra’s recently launched off-road model, became the first body-on-frame SUV to earn a five-star B-NCAP rating. In adult occupant protection (AOP), it scored an impressive 31.09 out of 32 points, while in child occupant protection (COP), it achieved 45 out of 49 points. This high rating reflects the SUV’s solid construction and extensive safety features, which include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), three-point seatbelts with reminders, and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features like lane departure warning, a 360-degree camera, and automatic emergency braking. The Thar Roxx is available at a starting price of ₹12.99 lakh, with the top variant priced at ₹22.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

XUV 3XO: Successor to the XUV300 with Enhanced Safety

The Mahindra XUV 3XO, successor to the XUV300, also earned high marks, scoring 29.36/32 in AOP and 43/49 in COP. The SUV’s robust safety profile is due to its 35 built-in safety features and use of high-strength steel. Key safety elements include six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, three-point seatbelts, and Level 2 ADAS capabilities similar to those of the Thar Roxx. Positioned as a strong competitor in the compact SUV market, the XUV 3XO goes up against popular models such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon.

XUV400: Mahindra’s First Electric SUV Sets High Standards

Mahindra’s all-electric XUV400 scored 30.377 out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 43 out of 49 for child safety. Launched with a starting price of ₹16.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the XUV400 combines electric efficiency with a comprehensive safety suite, including six airbags, all-disc brakes, and a reverse camera. This model marks Mahindra’s entry into the electric SUV segment, bringing strong safety performance to the growing EV market.

With these ratings, Mahindra has set a new standard in safety across various segments, from body-on-frame to compact and electric SUVs, ensuring robust protection for occupants across its vehicle range.
