Director Trivikram’s big film with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu opened to mixed reviews on January 12. The Sankranti release had high expectations from the audience but the action drama wavered on Day One due to the mixed reviews. This is Mahesh Babu’s first release in two years and the movie picked up and is doing well at the box office now.
Mahesh Babu stars in the film as Veera Venkata Ramana alias ‘Rowdy Ramana’. The Telugu star is seen with Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary in the film that has music by Thaman.
The Tollywood star opened up recently about the smoking scenes that feature in the film.
He said, “I don’t smoke and won’t encourage smoking as well. It was an ayurvedic beedi that was made of clove leaves. Initially, they gave me a real beedi, and I got a migraine. I went and told Trivikram and he was thinking about what to do. Then he researched and got me this ayurvedic beedi, which I found nice. It was made of clove leaves and had a mint flavour. There was no tobacco in it.”
Mahesh Babu fans celebrated the star’s fifth consecutive Rs 100 crore film at the box office. Ever since Guntur Kaaram started filming there were various stories about issues with the project.
Mahesh Babu fans are now delighted with the film’s success and many posted on X (formerly Twitter) about this. The Tollywood star’s performance in Guntur Kaaram was unanimously praised by the audience and critics alike.
