The Indian squad for the 2025 Asia Cup will be revealed today (Tuesday, August 19). Suryakumar Yadav’s men are set to return to T20I action after a seven-month break. With a full-strength squad available for the first time since the Sri Lanka tour last year, all eyes will be on the selectors’ strategy, especially with the red-ball series against West Indies beginning just three days after the Asia Cup final.

Despite these absences, India have enjoyed a brilliant run in T20Is, losing only two matches since the 2024 T20 World Cup. This raises the likelihood that the winning core will remain intact.

Due to Test and Champions Trophy commitments, key players like Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal and doubtful about their selection after missing previous T20I series against South Africa, Bangladesh, and England.

The big question is around Jasprit Bumrah’s availability. If fit, he is a certain inclusion, but selectors must decide whether to field him in the Asia Cup or keep him fresh for the Test series against West Indies.
