ABC News moderator Linsey Davis has responded to criticism accusing her of bias during the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Viewers blasted both Davis and co-moderator David Muir for fact-checking Trump multiple times while not doing the same for Harris, leading to accusations of unfairness.

During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Davis explained her decision to fact-check Trump, highlighting concerns that his statements might go unchallenged, as they had in previous debates. She emphasized that her moderation aimed to prevent unchecked claims from misleading viewers, particularly after seeing what happened in prior debates involving Biden.

One notable moment from the debate was when Davis corrected Trump on his comments about late-term abortion, refuting his claim that any U.S. state allows the killing of a baby after birth. Following the backlash, Davis temporarily deactivated her social media accounts to avoid the accusations of favoritism. Despite the criticism, she remains firm in her belief that accurate information is key to a fair debate.
