Pierce Brosnan to play a secret agent in Simon Barry’s ‘A Spy’s Guide to Survival’

Pierce Brosnan, known for his role as James Bond, is returning to espionage in ‘A Spy’s Guide to Survival,’ according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is directed by Simon Barry, previously known for producing the television series ‘Warrior Nun.’

Simon Barry and his father, Derek Barry, not only penned the screenplay but also crafted the story. This project marks Simon Barry’s directorial debut in feature films.

Barry’s Reality Distortion Field and Singer’s Passage Pictures are collaborating on production. Nadine Barros, an executive producer at Fortitude International, will handle international sales at the Cannes market for the finance company.

“As a longtime Pierce Brosnan fan, I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside someone I admire for their craft, character, and humanity,” Barry stated.
The singer continued, “Pierce is the perfect fit for this role, and we are so excited to see what he and Simon will do together,” The Hollywood Reporter said.

Deadline reports that Chris Columbus will develop and direct ‘The Thursday Murder Club,’ featuring Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Ben Kingsley. The film adaptation is based on the novel of the same name by British TV personality and producer Richard Osman. Osman announced the news on his podcast, The Rest is Entertainment. The project is being produced by Amblin Entertainment, Steven Spielberg’s production company.

The narrative revolves around a cohort of elderly companions who gather to solve murder mysteries as a pastime in their retirement community, only to find themselves embroiled in a real-life case. Brosnan will portray ex-union activist Ron, Kingsley will depict former psychiatrist Ibrahim, and Mirren will take on the role of former spy Elizabeth.
