Bhumi Pednekar to play a cop in new investigative series ‘Daldal’

Actor Bhumi Pednekar has been experiencing a wave of success. Following her role in ‘Bhakshak’, she is now gearing up for ‘Daldal.’ In this Prime Video series, Bhumi will be portraying a cop, with Amrit Raj Gupta directing the project.

During an event on Tuesday, the makers unveiled details of the show, where Bhumi shared her experience working on the thriller series. She expressed her excitement for the challenging role, stating, “I love to challenge myself and I would say Daldal has been the most challenging part… I have never explored this kind of genre before….A lot of physical work was also involved.”

The show’s official synopsis describes it as follows: “Haunted by the guilt of her past and dealing with the demons of her present, Mumbai’s newly appointed DCP Rita Ferreira, must embark on an investigation of a series of murders that puts her on a collision course with a cold-blooded serial killer, even as she has to save her life from falling apart.”

Based on Bhendi Bazaar by Vish Dhamija, ‘Daldal’ has created quite a buzz. Meanwhile, Bhumi is receiving praise for her role as a journalist in ‘Bhakshak,’ a recent release on Netflix. Directed by Pulkit and produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma, ‘Bhakshak’ features a strong ensemble cast including Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar, alongside Bhumi Pednekar.
