The Supreme Court Collegium recommended to transfer Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar from Delhi High Court to Rajasthan High Court on August 10, 2023.
It has been requested by Justice Bhatnagar, by a representation dated August 16, 2023, requested for the retention of him in Delhi.
The Supreme Court Collegium did not find any merit in his request and hence, it has now reiterated the Supreme Court Collegium recommendation to transfer him to the Rajasthan High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium before making the said recommendation in terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, consulted Judges of the Supreme Court who are conversant with the affairs of the Delhi High Court to offer views on the proposed transfer.
The Supreme Court Collegium also consulted the Chief Justices of the High Court of Delhi and the Rajasthan High Court.
