Supreme Court Collegium Recommended Transfer Of Four High Court Judges Of Gujarat High Court Including The Judge Who Refused To Stay Rahul Gandhi’s Conviction

The Supreme Court Collegium bench comprising of Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice B R Gavai and Justice Surya Kant in its meeting held on August 03, 2023 recommended the names for transfer of four judges of Gujarat High Court.
The Judge proposed to be transferred is Justice Hemant M Prachchhak who had refused to stay the conviction of Rahul Gandhi in the case of defamation over his mark, ‘Modi Thieves’
Justice Alpesh Y Kogje from Gujarat High Court to the Allahabad High Court
Justice Kumari Gita Gopi from Gujarat High Court to Madras High Court
Justice Hemant M Prachchhak from Gujarat High Court to Patna High Court
Justice Samir J Dave from Gujarat High Court to Rajasthan High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium has also made several other proposal to the transfer of the other High Court Judges.
