Justice Subhasis Talapatra, the Judge Of Orissa High Court Taken Oath As 33rd Chief Justice

The Judge of Orissa High Court, Justice Subhasis Talapatra took oath as the 33rd Chief Justice of the High Court which being consequent upon the superannuation of its former Chief Justice Dr. S. Muralidhar. The oath was administered by Prof. Ganeshi Lal, the Governor of Odisha.
The name of Justice Talapatra, as the Chief Justice was being recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium last month which was later approved by the Central Government.
Justice Talapatra was born on 04.10.1961 at Udaipur, Tripura. Justice Talapatra graduation was done in Arts and Law from University of Calcutta and he was enrolled with the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh on 12.09.1990.
Justice Talapatra practised mainly at Agartala Bench of the Gauhati High Court and he has appeared in various constitutional, civil and the criminal matters. Later, Justice Talapatra was designated as a Senior Advocate on 21.12.2004.
On November 15, 2011, Justice Talapatra took oath as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court and he was being appointed as the Permanent Judge of the Tripura High Court on 13.09.2013.
Justice Talapatra was served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Court twice, i.e., from 02.11.2018 to 13.11.2018 and again from 11.11.2019 to 15.11.2019.
Therefore, Justice Talapatra was being transferred to the Orissa High Court on 01.06.2022 and took oath of office on 10.06.2022.
