The release date for the action drama ‘Kill’ has been unveiled. Produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor, the film, starring Lakshya and Raghav Juyal, is scheduled to hit theaters on July 5.
Making the announcement on Instagram, Karan shared, “Blood. Blood. And blood! We are unleashing this beast of a film to you – #Kill in theatres on 5th July 2024 in India. @itslakshya @tanyamaniktala @raghavjuyal @nix_bhat @apoorva1972 @guneetmonga @achinjain20 @dharmamovies @sikhya.”
Nikhil Nagesh Bhat directed the film, which had its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival in August 2023, garnering a positive response. ‘Kill’ stood out as the sole Indian title featured in the Midnight Madness program, a fan-favorite category highlighting the unusual and the daring.
According to Variety, ‘Kill’ falls within the extreme action genre, a rarity in Indian cinema. The plot unfolds entirely on an express train to New Delhi, following Indian army commandos Amrit and Viresh on a mission to rescue Amrit’s girlfriend Tulika, who is forcibly engaged to someone else. The narrative takes a twist when over 40 bandits, known as dacoits in India, board the train with intentions of looting and kidnapping. Amrit and Viresh strive to protect Tulika and her family, leading to intense, gut-wrenching action within the confined space of the train. The duo must also face the challenge posed by the psychotic bandit Fani. Tanya Maniktala is also part of the cast in ‘Kill.’
