In Haryana, the BJP-JJP coalition government has once again come under the Congress’ radar regarding unemployment issues. During the winter session of the assembly, unemployment remained a prominent issue. Senior Congress leader Kumari Selja targeted Haryana’s Khattar government over the Skill Development Scheme, stating that the BJP has only offered false hopes to Haryana’s youth in the name of schemes.
Selja further expressed concern about the exploitation of over five lakh unemployed youth registered under the Skill Development Scheme. Out of these registrations, only 1292 individuals have been provided employment, leaving the rest waiting after enrollment. The trust of the state’s youth in the BJP government has eroded, and the upcoming elections might reflect the consequences of this approach.
Additionally, Congress senior leader Kiran Choudhry criticized the Haryana government, stating that although the Skill Development Scheme didn’t deliver jobs, the figures exposed the incapability of the government. With over five lakh registrations but jobs provided to only 1292, and the stipend being discontinued since May, the government’s actions contradict its promises. Unemployed youth will teach a lesson to this inefficient government.
Choudhry also responded to the doctors’ strike, blaming the government for the chaos. She highlighted the consequences of the state’s mismanagement, affecting common people who lack funds for private hospitals and access to doctors in government facilities. She urged the government to at least consider the demands of striking doctors for some relief amid the deteriorating conditions in government hospitals.
